Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026

1. Introduction

My Smart Bible ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website at www.mysmartbible.com, our related online services, and our My Smart Bible mobile application.

By using My Smart Bible (app or website), you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use My Smart Bible.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

When you create an account or use our services, we may collect:

  • Email address
  • Full name, first name, and last name
  • Profile information (avatar URL, preferences)
  • Authentication data (Sign in with Apple, Google, or email)
  • Account creation and last login dates

2.2 Bible Study Data

We collect and store your personal Bible study information:

  • Verse highlights and annotations
  • Personal notes and study materials
  • Tags and categories you create
  • Favorite verses and bookmarks
  • Reading progress and preferences
  • Bible version preferences

2.3 Prayer Journal Data

Your prayer journal entries may include:

  • Prayer requests and content
  • Gratitude items and reflections
  • Scripture references and notes
  • Prayer categories and priorities
  • Reminder settings and frequencies
  • Session duration and activity tracking

2.4 Optional study help

If you use optional verse help, we send the verse or plan text you selected to third-party study-help providers so they can generate a reply: Anthropic for written replies, and ElevenLabs for audio. The app asks for your permission before the first send. You can report generated text in the app. You can keep reading without this. We do not use this to train a public social feed.

2.5 Purchases

If you choose optional support, Apple, Google, or our billing partner (RevenueCat) process the store purchase. We store enough to recognize your supporter title and to record that a purchase happened. The store, not us, holds your payment card.

2.6 Technical Information

We automatically collect certain technical information:

  • IP address (from normal web and API requests; we do not request GPS)
  • Browser type and version (website)
  • Device information and operating system
  • Session data needed to keep you signed in
  • Local reading-plan reminder times you set on the device
  • Install source (App Store or Google Play) so we can help with store-specific support
  • Error logs and performance data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for:

  • Providing and maintaining our services
  • Personalizing your Bible study experience
  • Storing and syncing your study data

We keep account and study data while your account is open. After you delete your account we remove or de-identify that data, except where law requires a limited record. Encrypted backups may last up to about 90 days. Store subscriptions stay with Apple or Google until you cancel them there.
